Dear Friend

Dear Friend,
The world ought to be travelled. People and places and experiences wait just beyond the airport... perhaps closer. Bud open like a flower; do not be afraid to show your petals. Bloom and see the beauteous world around you. Why is the world such a beautiful place, with breathtaking mountain views, to the shattering of glass of a waterfall, to even just the common bloom of flowers in spring in our own neighborhood? I believe that Earth has a little bit of Heaven. The Earth has fallen, yes, and it is sad. But it has retained some of the beauty of Heaven. It is that beauty that we treasure. A traveller and a tourist are two very different things; a tourist is there to look at; a traveller is there to discover. Where am I going? Many places, hopefully. Most of which will be probably just around the corner in my own state of Washington. But who says that you cannot find something exquisite in your own backyard? After all, the world is my backyard. I believe that a postcard - the mix of the taken picture and the written word - is a perfect way to communicate the love of travel with others. I am writing to you because I have a need to write. More importantly, I have a need to write to a friend. Perhaps many friends. Whether you are stuck at home and need a window to the outside world, or wish to share in the joy of discovering with a fellow traveller, I am glad to know I am not alone.
